Mixed Media Assemblage 2018. Using the metaphor of butterflies' metamorphosis, this work describes what happens when a person uses their innate power to overcome the black dog of depression to live a more successful life. Just like the butterfly, the process involves periods of deconstruction, meditation, mindfulness and sometimes isolation before the beautiful creature can emerge. This process can be easily triggered by immersion in creative work. Mixed media assemblage with fibre, fabric, glass, found objects, wood, wire, embroidery and beads.
