Mixed Media Assemblage, 2020. From the Wenig Wunderkammer series. The doll parts attached to the glass vessel give the impression of disembodiment of the female, and separates the outside from the inside. The 'inner sanctum' is depicted in two ways. Firstly there is the paper domicile under the glass; with the eggs in the nest cared for by the bird on the woman's hat as the second 'inner sanctum'. Both represent the fragility of life, the need we all have for a safe third space to retreat to, but also the power of feminine strength. LED light in the base lights up Sanctum. Mixed media assemblage with doll parts, beads, feathers, glass, found objects, LED lights, resin, fibre and fabric.
